Turmeric is a spice that comes from the turmeric plant. It is commonly used to add flavor to food. Regarding its use for skin care, studies have shown that curcumin, a chemical compound found in turmeric, can decrease UV damage (it's a natural antioxidant) and clear up acne (it's also antibacterial) when applied to the skin. It may also reduce collagen breakdown when taken orally, says Rachel Nazarian, a dermatologist in New York City

Yarrow Pom is a blend of Yarrow essential oil and cold-pressed Pomegranate seed oil designed to get that glow. It activates skin-protecting proteins (inhibiting the enzymes that breakdown elasticity and collagen) with the added benefit of promoting collagen production.*

Additionally, this active botanical powerhouse can be applied topically to revitalize aging skin and taken internally to support a healthy inflammatory response at the source and promotes healthy metabolic function.

Great question. First, consider your skin type and your skin concerns. Does your skin tend to be oily? Do you struggle with dark marks and blemishes? Explore the pages of our site related to your specific concerns. Then you should use our even skin tone kit.

If you still have questions, reach out to our customer experience team. They are always available to chat and will be happy to point you in the right direction.

If you suffer from eczema and acne, your goal should be to find products that aren’t drying out your skin too much while also taking into account that acne-focused products tend to contain ingredients that dry the skin such as Benzoyl Peroxide.

A safe choice for a cleanser is our Turmeric Cleansing Facial Wash. It gently exfoliates while improving the appearance of dry skin. Our Aloe Exfoliating and Moisturizing Buttah Scrub with Aloe and Jojoba Oil, works to relieve the pain and itching of dry or irritated skin. Our Turmeric and Yarrow Pow Dark Spot Serum contains Turmeric and Yarrow Pom to help reduce inflammation and improve rough texture. For extra dry skin, we recommend our Turmeric & Yarrow Pom Dark Spot Hydro-Moisturizer Cream to keep your skin hydrated.

You should also always consider using an SPF moisturizer to protect your already sensitive skin from environmental exposure which could cause excess dirt and oil to get trapped in the skin. For acne, you can also use our Turmeric Facial Wash & Buttah Scrub Treatment but only use it as a spot treatment to prevent further eczema complications.

Yes! Even if you have oily skin, you still need a moisturizer to act as a barrier against environmental factors that negatively affect moisture-regulating layers of your skin. Not using a moisturizer could trick your skin into producing more oil resulting in an increase in blemishes.

For oily skin types, we recommend our Yarrow Pom Moisturizer + Yarrow Pom Serum. Infused with hydrating, brightening, and firming ingredients such as Kojic Acid, and Niacinamide, this clear, non-pore-clogging formula is intensely hydrating while improving the look of uneven skin tone, rough texture, and aging skin.

The standard skin type categories are dry, oily, combination, normal, and sensitive. You can determine your skin type by trying at-home methods such as the “bare-faced” method.

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser. After thirty minutes, examine the size of your pores. If your pores look large, you most likely have oily skin. If your pores appear small or are barely visible, you most likely have dry skin. If your pores are large in some areas (like your T-zone) but smaller in others, you most likely have combination skin. After an hour, if your face feels tight, this is also an indicator that you have dry skin.

If you have sensitive skin, over 50% of the products you’ve tried have irritated your skin causing redness or a series of tiny bumps where the product was used.

Quite often the cause for excessively oily skin is the lack of using a moisturizer. Without a moisturizer, your skin will become dehydrated and possibly irritated due to a break-down in the skin’s moisture barrier. The skin’s way of adjusting to a lack of moisture is to produce excessive amounts of sebum.

This most likely leads to oily or greasy skin. If you have oily skin, our Turmeric Face and Body Cleansing Wash is your best choice for an everyday cleanser. Additionally, we recommend our Clear & Even Tone Kit. For a full list of products to combat oily skin check out our online store.

If you suffer from chronic dark circles under your eyes, it could be a result of genetics. For those that don’t have a genetic predisposition, dark circles can be caused by lack of sleep, allergies, excessive eye rubbing, or overexposure to sunlight. The first step you should take is to try and determine the source of your dark circles and, if possible, adjust your behavior.

Additionally, you should try our Yarrow Pom Serum. This serum is formulated with Aloe, Papaya, Yarrow Pom & Kojic Acid to brighten the look of dark circles under the eye and improve the appearance of puffiness and fine lines.

Yes! SPF or sunscreen should be applied every morning as the final step in your skincare routine and before sun exposure. No matter your skin tone, everyone’s skin needs to be protected from the sun’s UV rays that can cause cancer even when it’s cloudy. Not to mention, a daily SPF can also protect your skin from blue light emitted by digital screens (TVs, computers, laptops, smartphones, and tablets), electronic devices, fluorescent and LED lighting that can lead to aging skin and hyperpigmentation.

It’s also important to note that if you’re using corrective skincare products containing AHAs, BHAs or Retinol your skin could be more sensitive to sun exposure. As a result, you should make sure you’re applying SPF to prevent the reversal or adverse effects that the sun could cause.

Chemical Physical Active Ingredients May include Oxybenzone, Avobenzone, Octisalate, Octocrylene, Homosalate, and Octinoxate (which can lead to coral reef damage)Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide. Its primary benefit is it absorbs UV rays before they can damage the skin.

Ingredients penetrate the top layers of the skin to absorb UV rays. Ingredients form a barrier on the surface of the skin that helps reflect UV rays away from the skin. Depending on the formulation, chemical sunscreens may be easier to rub into the skin and less likely to leave a white cast, and is better for water & sweat-resistance. Needs to be applied at least 15-20 mins before sun exposure to absorbents tends to be difficult to fully blend into the skin, leaving a white cast. Tends to be less irritating and better for sensitive skin.

Conventional acne treatments like salicylic acid, niacinamide, or benzoyl peroxide are proven to be the most effective acne solutions, but they can be expensive and have undesirable side effects, such as dryness, redness, and irritation. This has prompted many people to look into remedies to cure acne naturally at home. In fact, one study found that 77% of acne patients had tried alternative acne treatments.

Evolve supports holistic health and will always suggest ingredients that are environmentally friendly, and cruelty-free, apple cider vinegar, zinc, honey & cinnamon mask, spot treat with tea tree oil, green tea, aloe, witch hazel, fish oil supplements, and exfoliating are examples of some of the best ingredients for breakout-prone skin. Our BUTTAH Scrub and Serum is a Glowgetter favorite for acne! This serum delivers Aloe, Papaya oil, Yarrow Pom, Lemon Peel Oil, Lemon Essential Oil to reduce and prevent future breakouts plus fight inflammation. It can be applied as an all-over acne serum or a spot treatment!

The Turmeric Face & Body Cleansing Wash is a go-to for cleansing blemish-prone skin on a daily basis. We also recommend Turmeric BUTTAH Scrub for exfoliating and smoothing blemish-prone skin. Last but not least, keep your skin moisturized with the Hydro moist and restore moisturizer to prevent your skin from overproducing oil.

Kojic acid, Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Yarrow Pom, Turmeric, Papaya essential oils, and Niacinamide are all ingredients featured in our Evolve Transformation Kit® and together they work to improve the appearance of uneven skin tone. Sugar Buttah Scrub exfoliates skin to enhance the look of uneven skin tone. And Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps shield the skin from external environmental stressors.

Additionally, you should incorporate a moisturizer with SPF into your skincare routine to protect your skin from further hyperpigmentation as a result of increased sun exposure.

When the formula lather is rinsed out of the sponge, your sponge is clean but it’s important to let your sponge air dry after every use and not leave them inside the cleansing jar. Additionally, these reusable sponges can be washed with laundry in a washing machine. We recommend washing them along with towels and letting them air dry.

* If you need replacements, we'll be adding sponges to the website so check back soon. (Recommended time of use in between washes is two weeks)
